Grover Beach is part of what is known as the 5 Cities Metropolitan area. The 5 Cities include Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, Oceano and Shell Beach.
Located on the Pacific Coast, Grover Beach offers all the attractions of a beach city, including surfing, swimming, boating and fishing. It was incorporated on December 21, 1959. The total area of the city is 2.3 square milesand the 2010 Census has Grover Beach with a population of 13,156. The population density was 5,684.2 people per square mile. This city experiences warm, dry summers, with an average monthly temperature around 71.6 °F, rarely exceeding this temperature.
Today, this ocean side city offers shopping and fun attractions for the whole family. A big attraction for the city is the Oceano Dunes Natural Preserve. It is an incredible set of dunes on the beach, providing a recreational facility for ATVs and dirt bikes. The area also offers scenic strolls and walks with great views of the ocean. Grover Beach also has a great parks system, including the well-known Ramona Gardens Park. Other attractions include Sixteenth Street Park, North Beach Campground and Monarch Butterfly Grove.
